Kitchen Design Trends for 2021

While an all-white kitchen will likely never go out of style, here are some kitchen design trends we’ve been following. From pops of color to mixing tones and textures, gone are the days where kitchen cabinets blend into the background and wallpaper borders add a pop of color!

Colorful Islands

Like a great piece of furniture, it’s the kitchen islands time to shine! From furniture legs to splashes of color, islands are now both pretty and practical. Contrasting against the white cabinets this island painted in Svelte Sage makes a statement in an understated, yet impactful way.

Standout Sinks

Yes, you need a kitchen sink that functions the way you want, but you don’t have to compromise style for function. From drop-in to undermount and stainless to porcelain, the options for kitchen sinks are endless! This apron front sink with oil rubbed bronze hardware, quartz countertops and Summit Gray painted cabinets is a showstopper.

Pretty Pantries

Today’s kitchens boast roomy pantries with plenty of shelving. Rather than using a traditional swing door for the pantry, you can add charm and save space by installing a barn door like this homeowner did.

Mix It Up

When designing your kitchen, mix it up by combining textures and patterns. This kitchen features a geometrical, floral design for the backsplash, quartz countertops, and warm wood tones on the floors, island and range hood – keeping the kitchen well-balanced and chic.

Two-Toned Cabinets

Kitchen cabinets used to blend into the background, but today we’re seeing more and more people mix painted cabinet colors. These Pure White cabinets make the room feel light and spacious, whereas the lower cabinets painted in Slate Tile help define the space.

Decorative Display

Your kitchen is a great place to incorporate things like cookbooks and dishes into your décor. Adding open wall shelving or glass cabinet doors allows you to organize everything inside and have it on display at the same time.

Open It Up

An open layout gives you a chance to cook and socialize at the same time…and talk about having more natural lighting! In this home, the mix of lighting differentiates the areas while a uniform wall color keeps everything cohesive.
